THE THEOTOKOS LIFE-GIVING SPRING SITE FOR DIOCESAN CLERGY LENTEN RETREAT
The Holy Monastery of the Theotokos the Life-Giving Spring is located in Dunlap, California near the St. Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center. It was established in 1993 by His Grace Bishop Anthony with the assistance of Father Ephraim of Mt. Athos, who brought the first two nuns from the Holy Monastery of the Archangel Michael in Greece. The monastery was named after the Historic Theotokos the Life-Giving Spring Monastery and Shrine in Constantinople.
The Clergy gathered at this beautiful monastery for their annual lenten confession. The Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts was celebrated with the nuns of the Monastery.
The Keynote address for this Annual Clergy Confession and Retreat was given by Professor Bosko Bojovic on the Topic: "Byzantium: A Paradigm of Ideology and Economy". Professor Bojovic received his Doctorate at the University of Paris and Sorbonne Institute of Balkanic Studies. His message focused on the valuable lessons to be learned from the Historical rise and fall of Byzantium. Many questions were answered and everyone was inspired by his challenging message.
